It is conventional wisdom that the Obama campaign's use of social media was a critical factor in President Obama's 2008 win.  But what's next?  How can progressives use tools like Twitter, blogging, and online video to take politics and social media to the next level?

Please join us for a Tweetup where progressives from the greater Boston area can gather and discuss how we can stay at the cutting edge of technology and politics. Those interested in "Government 2.0" and citizen journalism are also strongly encouraged to attend.  If your interest is more on the technology or marketing side of social media than in politics, we want to hear your ideas about how to incorporate the best practices of social media in business and apply it to politics and government.

Finally, if you are a progressive who has little familiarity with social media tools like Twitter, we strongly encourage you to attend. This will be a great chance to start learning about social media and how it can complement your efforts to advocate for issues at the local and national level. If you're not of the "progressive" bent but still want to hang out with people interested in social media and politics, feel free to drop by as well.

The event will be casual and there will be a cash bar.  Drop by after work and stay a few hours.  Our goal is to start organizing progressives who use social media and begin a discussion of how we can better integrate the online and offline worlds of politics and technology.  See you there!
